Palimaru is a pretty little village 35 km, from the temple town Udupi. It is just 10 km. off, the NH 17 highway. The maTha is located in idyllic surroundings, where one can forget the cares of the mundane world. The founder of this maTha is Sri Hrusheekeshateertha, who was a direct disciple of Sri Madhwaachaarya. It was he, who wrote down the entire Sarva Moola Granthas of Srimadaachaarya By that reckoning, the maTha is more than Seven hundred year old.  It was renovated sometime during 1730, by Sri Raghupungavateertha, the 21st pontiff of the maTha, taking care that the original traditional style of architecture was not disturbed.
